I discussed yesterday with Rainbow Chaser the possibility of having the above race in the SOL calender.Information (in Swedish) on lss.a.se and the clic left "kappseglingar" and to get the chart then clic below "banbeskrivning"
The race is only 13.5NM but pretty difficult with winds from all quarters as the course is more or less circular. The next race on the 12th of May. If you need more info tell me and I'll contact LSS the organizing yacht club// BARKEN

No-one else has commented! This is very short and more like a practice race than a SOL race.

HOWEVER... as the servers now seem to be happy with more open races, this could be a fun one to try out between now and the official race in 2013. If the super-close-in nature of the race is found to be fun, then let's go ahead and see if we can buddy with the organisers.

My concerns, I suppose, are more that such races do not showcase SOL in the same way that the longer races do but there is no harm in our trying it out.

This month’s TIMED race takes us to the shallow waters of Palk Bay located between India and Sri Lanka. Sail the impressive MC 38 around a roughly 140 nm course through two narrow channels before returning to the start/finish line in Jaffna.

The British Isles Circumnavigation 2026


The British Isles Circumnavigation is here! Inviting skippers to take on an epic 1,720nm clockwise voyage around Britain and Ireland! Starting and finishing in Cowes, the course passes some of the most iconic landmarks in offshore sailing, including Fastnet Rock, Tearaght Lighthouse, Black Rock, St. Kilda and Muckle Flugga before the long run home.
