Sure there will always be those who follow known fast boats (IRL or VL), often they may try to analyse and learn why that route is a good one...

However, you can't really stealth them, as in close racing IRL you have visual contact, and Ocean races still have GPS and AIS data... even if SOL made a boat invisible in the SOL client, I could still track it, although with some loss of precision, via its AIS data from brainaid's own NMEA proxy...

But consider, unless you are good enough to be 'up there' and are simply covering a particular boat (brainaid/winston et. al.) it isnt that much fun just following another boat around the course. AND you have to very closely monitor them... too bad for the sheep if brainaid/winston etc tacks/gybes in them while they are asleep or they otherwise miss it! ;-)

Welcome to one of Sailonline's great traditions - the ofttimes slightly untimely celebration of SOLer Mistli's birthday on November 1, by way of a tricky race through the Stockholm Archipelago. Sinbad by Balloon 2025 - Carnarvon to Dondra


From here, our home in Bharatavarṣa is now north west of us – said Sinbad to his fellow balloonists. Perhaps we can ride the wind first further north, and then catch the winds that every year bring the rain, perhaps not. It’s 2600nm and we could be aloft awhile, so, Master el-Quarters, victuals only, no sandbags, provisioning the giant hamper. It will be not a picnic!
