	I have been having a lot of problems with Sailrace continually bugging out. My system is XP(sp2) i'm running the beta 7 version of the game.It will run well for a while and then just stops working and closes down. I have thought that the problem could be that there was an error within Windows, so I have just formatted my drive and reinstalled. The game ran for ablout 3/4 of an hour. What can I do to stop this from happening? Any suggestions will be apreciated. Grumfoss May the Foss be with you...

	Hi grumfoss - I have no idea why this happens, I have isolated reports of the client crashing but it doesn't seem to be widespread and I cannot see the reason. Do you have an ATI graphics card?

	Hi Kalle Thanks for the reply, no I have a Nvidia 8800GT graphics card with the latest drivers. It only appears to happen on my main computer (Intel core duo E6300 on an Asus P5B deluxe mainboard)The Computer was overclocked but I have put all settings back to standard and I still have the problem. It works fine on my laptop (Intel core 2 Duo T5500- Nvidia graphics as well. I hope this helps Grumfoss May the Foss be with you...

	Hi kalle, Just a quick update on the problem. I went to Microsoft update site and manually downloaded many updates that my computers hadn't downloaded. I also found that the Auto updates settings were incorrect within Windows. Since I have done this Sailrace is running much better. (the only problem i have now is my inability to sail well ) May the Foss be with you...

	Thanks for the update! I'll keep that in mind when someone asks in the future - I think the problem is worse now when microsoft has locked out all non-"genuine" versions from auto update.

The Beagle in Mauritius 2024

And west, forever following the sun, the Beagle went once more to next explore Australia, but since online we already regularly race the length and breadth of that wee dinkum continent’s coasts, we will delay launching our Tall Ship Class B until the Beagle reaches Mauritius, which she did on 29 April 1836. Darwin explored the island and its coral reefs extensively. We’ll better that by sailing some 450nm to Reunion and back, for a better appreciation of this remote archipelago, inhabited mostly by descendants of French and English colonists and Indian convicts and political prisoners.

Kapiti Chetwodes Race 2024

For only the second time in SOL history, we have the pleasure of inviting you to the Kapiti Chetwodes Race, held in the Cook Strait region. Organised IRL by the Royal Port Nicholson Yacht Club from Wellington in New Zealand. The approximately 160nm long route, full of turning points, will take us from the bay at RPNYC around the islands of Somes, Kapiti and Chetwodes and back to the finish line at RPNYC. We have only a 26 ft Albin 79 yacht at our disposal. All this means that we will have a lot of fun, so fair winds!

Two Oceans Doublecross TIMED Race 2024

Our November Timed race takes us to Cape Town near where the Atlantic and Indian oceans meet. Our ride is a beautiful ketch, the Archer 78. Starting at Cape Town, we’ll round Robben Island, then head south to round Cape Point, up around Seal Island before heading north to round Dassen Island before returning to Cape Town. This is a TIMED race, so you may RE-REGISTER HERE to try again, after finishing a run. You will have 13 days and 11 hours to test your skill and decision making after the race opens.
