I have been having a lot of problems with Sailrace continually bugging out. My system is XP(sp2) i'm running the beta 7 version of the game.It will run well for a while and then just stops working and closes down. I have thought that the problem could be that there was an error within Windows, so I have just formatted my drive and reinstalled. The game ran for ablout 3/4 of an hour.

What can I do to stop this from happening?
Any suggestions will be apreciated.

Hi grumfoss - I have no idea why this happens, I have isolated reports of the client crashing but it doesn't seem to be widespread and I cannot see the reason.

Do you have an ATI graphics card?

Thanks for the reply, no I have a Nvidia 8800GT graphics card with the latest drivers.
It only appears to happen on my main computer (Intel core duo E6300 on an Asus P5B deluxe mainboard)The Computer was overclocked but I have put all settings back to standard and I still have the problem. It works fine on my laptop (Intel core 2 Duo T5500- Nvidia graphics as well.

Hi kalle,
Just a quick update on the problem. I went to Microsoft update site and manually downloaded many updates that my computers hadn't downloaded. I also found that the Auto updates settings were incorrect within Windows.
Since I have done this Sailrace is running much better.

(the only problem i have now is my inability to sail well ;) )

Thanks for the update! I'll keep that in mind when someone asks in the future - I think the problem is worse now when microsoft has locked out all non-"genuine" versions from auto update.
