I have seen this complaint several times here and now it happened to me too.

Just tried to finish the (pre-race) Chicago-Mackinac race and it happened to me with the St. Malo race, too, that the finish line just let's me pass.

I made sure in both cases that all marks I saw have been rounded (the fact they change their text now definitely is a great help, thanks). Nevertheless I couldn't finish.

1. What reasons could there be beyond missing a mark?
2. How to find out what reason applies?

Hi Cynthia,

There is nothing wrong. You cannot finish simply since the race has not started yet, it starts on July 18 :-)
...one of the guys behind the game...

Hmm. Would sound reasonable, if ....

there wouldn't be a lot of other boats already "hanging" at the finish line.

I'm not convinced.

Its a little trick experienced users do when they have completed practice. They set a twa=0 right at the line. It has become a sport to nail this up to the milimeter.

I can understand your confusion from this, it is a often asked question.

Well, ok.

Convinced now. Indeed the angle of boats "hanging" at the start line is a bit odd and they all point into the wind. Never noticed this slight detail.

Regata dell’Accademia Navale 2026

Welcome to Sailonline’s partnership with the City of Livorno (Leghorn say the English) in cooperation with the local yacht clubs and the Italian Navy, offering all the online opportunity to race the famous Regata dell’Accademia Navale - 630nm in length. Starting and finishing in Livorno, this year the race takes you the length and breadth of the Tyrrhenian Sea via little Mortorio (Mortoriotto) off Sardinia to Capri and home again to Livorno. This race also counts towards Sailonline’s Magical Mediterranean Series and the SuperBuddy title. Online, you will be sailing a Mini 6.50, to give you a match against several of the real-life entrants, which you will be able to track on-screen!
