Page: 1 2 Next

I have noticed that there are map problems when running Vista with both B6 and B7, If I start up XP with B7 everthing works fine.
Can you elaborate on your problems? Have you tried the workaround suggested for a similar problem in another thread in this section? (Changing OpenGL prefs)
I can't find where to set the OpenGL on my laptop. Maybe I don't have it. It's not a pure gaming computer.
Searching on the internet for OpenGL and Vista this looks like it will be an increasingly frequent problem!

On my laptop I did:control panel|classic view|Intel GMA driver for mobile (will be different on other computers)|display settings|color quality=16 bit

I tried fiddling with the 3D settings as per the other post but I don't think they did the trick.

PS it would be handy to have a search of the forum, or even the site as it took quite a while to find the post you referred to. Google doesn't reindex often or deeply enough for [xyz site:www.sailonline.org] to find things
Pipedream:
Did 16 bit colors solve your problems?
Good question. That was the last thing I did and it worked afterwards. I had changed one thing at a time on the 3D setting and restarted the client application each time and I unset them afterwards (as far as I could remember). However in the past I have been through a similar process installing drivers etc and having failed to solve the problem put everything back as it was, restarted the computer and it worked!

In this case if I switch 32 to 16 bits and back the map appears and disappears.
Ok, I will try to change to 16 bits on my laptop to see if it will solve the problem then.

Cheers
I'll try to slightly change how I request the OpenGL context in the next version. That might do the trick :)
That sounds good Kalle. The best thing would for sure that it work under Vista without any fix for the mainstream of users i guess. :)

Keep up the superb work!
Changing to 16 bits didn't do it for me. I'll stick to my old XP laptop for the upcomming event.

Great Bear Ice Race 2025

You can fly to Great Bear Lake Airport, but if the ice is good, instead hire a pick-up truck, load your disassembled DN into the cargo bed and drive, first following the McKenzie River north, and then straight across the lake to the start of our final Ice Boat series race of roughly 100nm in length. The Airport authorities have agreed to leave all lights on, so you should just about be able to see where you are going as you zing and rumble, PL-free over the ice!

Chile Islands RTI Sprint 2025

Across the Canal Puyuhuapi from Puerto Cines on the Chilean mainland lies the Parque Nacional Isla Magdelena, and further west across the Canal Moraleda from Magdelena lie the islands of the Chonos Archipelago. Returning for the first time since 2017 we find ourselves in vari-charted waters here, with the mapping between physical islands and their names not 1:1 but rather some:some. It’s only 26nm but you could get lost! Good luck.

Christmas to Christmas Island 2025

Two waypoints, start and finish, and between them 5827 NM of two oceans. Not much time if we want to sit at the Christmas Eve table. You will need to maintain an average speed of over 10 knots, maybe quite possible with this Maxi Trimaran, but prepare your vessel well and choose the best of the many possible routes. Hands up everyone who knew there were TWO Christmas Islands?! OK, maybe you have sailed this Sailonline course before... but it's time to get ready for the 2025 challenge of racing between Christmas Island in the Pacific to Christmas Island in the Indian Ocean! It also marks the conclusion of our prestigious Ocean Race Championship 2025. Please have fun! Fair winds!

Sinbad by Balloon 2025 - Carnarvon to Dondra

From here, our home in Bharatavarṣa is now north west of us – said Sinbad to his fellow balloonists. Perhaps we can ride the wind first further north, and then catch the winds that every year bring the rain, perhaps not. It’s 2600nm and we could be aloft awhile, so, Master el-Quarters, victuals only, no sandbags, provisioning the giant hamper. It will be not a picnic!
