Hi Nuno, the comma will be allowed in the next version (will be allowed in place of periods everywhere). Sorry, I had overlooked that it could be a legal decimal point in some locales, and the iPhone is very good about respecting local customs.

The density is controllable in the settings, let me know if you think the range isn't sufficient, or you'd like to see another method.

Dan, using this on my iPhone 8 w/ software v13.7

Display Settings for light or dark mode aren't showing. In Settings I only see MAP DISPLAY and INSTRUMENTS, am I missing something?

The icon at lower right calls up the polar but looks like an audio speaker symbol. Not sure what widget symbol could replace it, minor UI tag anyway.

Would be great if low speed wind polar was an option

I don't see a way to expose wind speed/direction at the arrows.

I also find it useful to expose the timing to the next DC, perhaps a toggle in instruments?

Forgive me as this is a fast pass, congrats on this super pro job!!!

Thanks mfa_wsg for all that.

- display settings are set on the device, look in the Settings app, Display & Brightness. On my phone I also added that to my Control Center for quick switching (swipe down from top right corner, add controls in Settings->Control Center)

- the name of that icon in the bottom right is radio waves, so, yes, you're right. I thought it reflected the shape of the polars, I'll try to think of something better, maybe use the Sailonline logo? I'm trying to use built-in icons for a consistent look, and Apple hasn't yet designed an icon for yacht racing polars :-)

- I need to rework the polar window at some point -- it was the first thing I did in the app, and it's gotten a bit old already, so, yes, I'll add some options for low wind

- will need to add TWS/TWD labeling

- there a tag at the bottom of the screen that gives you timing to the next DC, when there is one; do you mean something additional?

Thanks again for reviewing all the features!
Dan, just saw the tag re DC timing, perfect, missed it before. I woke up and dope slapped myself re radio waves = polars. IMO it's totally fine and in my UX/UI experience, you just learn it.

I was puzzled by the Steering Line at first but I just figured it out using the stupid Rum race as my sandbox, Brilliant UI!! I'm liking the app a lot!
Great! I updated the polar icon anyway, I like the new spidery one, see screenshot.
Version 2.5.0 of the iOS client is now in beta testing, including DC-aware predictors, some new chatroom features, etc. If you don't already have the beta on TestFlight, download the TestFlight app and click on this link to join: https://testflight.apple.com/join/hHkN9079

Halifax to Hooper Bay 2024

And now it’s Autumn in the Arctic, the sun is permanently below the horizon, but during the day, from c 0900 to c 1700 local time, there is some twilight – nautical twilight, not to be confused with civil twilight which is brighter. Having receded all summer, ice is starting to return to the numerous straits and bays of Canada’s North West Passage. High time then to set off on our last leg of the High Latitudes Series from Halifax in Nova Scotia to Alaska’s Hooper Bay. It’s 3850nm and we need to hurry, so we’ll take the Pelagic 77!
