	I'm having a problem getting Flash for my tablet, without which of course I can't see the race. The Adobe site won't download the player - any suggestions please?

	It may be that the HTML5-based client that is currently under testing would run just fine on your tablet's browser. You can try it out by replacing "windy" in the client's URL with "breezy" but be aware that there are some minor UI changes compared with the Flash client (such as non-zero TWA steering always requires sign). -ij

	I have noted a few irregularities in the HTML5 client, and hope they can be repaired. It is hard to break the habits of years---for instance, centering any point on the screen now requires 3 clicks, rather than 2. The actuation of a course choice needs 2 not 1 clicks. Stopping the boat at a start/finish line requires the entry of TWA = (0) not (0.00000) or (0.) Realizing some entry hasn't worked as expected can make for mistakes that are very frustrating.... If it breaks, it's not strong enough--if it doesn't, it's too heavy.

	Rod, Can you please try ?version=dev. ...Go into Setting, enabled "Show diagnostics" and "Extra diagnostics". Then open up diag tab and double click to center map. The diagnostics printouts should now have a few lines with "uimode:" in them (you might have to scroll to the end unless you've just started the client). I'd be interested know the uimode event sequence you see there. You can repeat the same for the course choice (assuming it you refer to steer tool rather than the set boat course button which would is unrelated to uimodes). -- i.

Kapiti Chetwodes Race 2024

For only the second time in SOL history, we have the pleasure of inviting you to the Kapiti Chetwodes Race, held in the Cook Strait region. Organised IRL by the Royal Port Nicholson Yacht Club from Wellington in New Zealand. The approximately 160nm long route, full of turning points, will take us from the bay at RPNYC around the islands of Somes, Kapiti and Chetwodes and back to the finish line at RPNYC. We have only a 26 ft Albin 79 yacht at our disposal. All this means that we will have a lot of fun, so fair winds!

Two Oceans Doublecross TIMED Race 2024

Our November Timed race takes us to Cape Town near where the Atlantic and Indian oceans meet. Our ride is a beautiful ketch, the Archer 78. Starting at Cape Town, we’ll round Robben Island, then head south to round Cape Point, up around Seal Island before heading north to round Dassen Island before returning to Cape Town. This is a TIMED race, so you may RE-REGISTER HERE to try again, after finishing a run. You will have 13 days and 11 hours to test your skill and decision making after the race opens.
