Board » Technical Support » REPORTING TECHNICAL ISSUES

I am having serious problems with the Santa Monica race it that the messages posted will not clear so I am unable to steer my ship or in fact do anything.
However this does highlight a problem that there is no (appears) way to report a technical fault to be looked at quickly and reported back.
This is the second problem recently and it is destroying my enjoyment of SOL - I'm not prepared to spend hours racing just to be told that because someone has been disadvantaged teh race ius scrubbed, yet never seems to happen when I havea problem
I am sorry you are/were having steering problems and some display issues. It is always useful to try and determine if the problem is local or a more general one, and this is what I do:

1. Clear all caches (browser, Flash, DNS)
2. Check that the latest version of Flash is running
3. Run a cleaner such as CCleaner
4. Reboot

If the problem persists, then this might suggest it is a Sailonline problem, rather than an individual one, and the way of obtaining a pretty speedy response is by emailing admin@sailonline.org and we'll always respond as rapidly and usefully as possible.

:-)
Thanks for your help. I have done the steps you suggested but to no avail. The problem is only on the 1 race, the Lisbon & timed race both operate normally.
That said this race does work ok on my laptop - the only difference is the laptop is Win7 32 bit & the PC is Wn7 64 bit - not sure if that is a factor?

having been away I have tried this evening and the race is now operating correctly. Can you please advise me what was done and was I the only person to have been affected?
Nothing was done by Sailonline ... sorry, that is not a particularly helpful response for you, as something clearly was amiss, but no-one else reported any issues during this race.

Africa by Sea 2025 - Maputo to Mogadishu

The fifth leg of our exploration of Africa By Sea takes us north along the length of the Continent’s succulent sub-tropical and tropical Indian Ocean coast. Much fought over by traders and colonists both well-before and after a Portuguese expedition under the command of Vasco da Gama first sailed there from Europe back in the 16th century, it is yet to be properly explored as a yachting destination. With plenty of islands off- and inshore, small and very large, there is much to interrupt your 1900nm voyage and visit in your Swan 65, from Maputo to Mogadishu! Race #1858
