...gone with the wind???
Just arround Cape Horn yesterday and this morning the race is not available anymore.
Even in the archive one can't open the race.... Server problem?

An in-race message was placed on 2018-04-07 at 05:10:30 UTC to announce that the race would be closed on Thursday, 12 April at 23:00 UTC.

The race closed on 2018-04-12 at 23:00:01 UTC.

I'm sorry you were unable to finish your race. We try to give everyone a chance to finish before closing the race, but there are always some people unable to make the finish in time, often because they started at a later date. We cannot keep all races open unnecessarily long, but we can often postpone a race close be a day, maybe two when asked. Next time when you see the message announcing the date and time the race will close, and you think you won't make the finish, you can send us an e-mail (admin@ ... ) asking for an extension.

Unfortunately we cannot re-open races, so yes, the race is gone with the wind, except for the rankings and the good memories :)

Natuna Sea Race 2026


At 4.0N 108.2E lies the island of Natuna Besar, Great Natuna, surrounded by at least 154 islands, of which 127 uninhabited, Indonesia’s Natuna Regency, and all around this archipelago, the Natuna Sea, bordered by Borneo to the east, the Java Sea to the south, and the Malay peninsula to the west, and extending north to cross a disputed international border with China into the South China Sea. And it’s a border that matters, there’s gas here! But why worry, let’s race – 2050nm in our goo’ol’ Open 60s in between the production platforms, prowling destroyers and submarines.

Panama Canal 2026


Sailing in the Panama Canal isn't the best idea, and organizing a race there is simply impossible and unfeasible IRL. In SOL, we have slightly different rules, so why not? A 36nm, frantic race awaits us, and the fast Dehler 30 OD will help us navigate the Panama Canal with grace.

Welcome to South Africa and RCYC's classic transatlantic Cape2Rio Race from Cape Town, South Africa, to Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. First run in 1971, this run is buddied with the IRL, Cape2Rio 2025 arranged by the Royal Cape Yacht Club with the cooperation of the
Iate Clube do Rio de Janeiro Despite this being announced the 2025 race (starting dec. 27) it is the 2026 SOL championship kickoff. This virtual version, will be raced once again in Mark Mills' 74ft speedster, the stunning C2R74.
