Board » Technical Support » Wx Inspector temporary solution

SOL Tech Gurus are working hard to get SOL Wx Inspector on server again. In the meantime, as temporary solution and the First Aid, here is version of this tool to be stored and run on your PC.
You can download and use it until (soon!) the on-line version will be available.

Here's how it goes:

1) Download files
2) RTFM*
3) May force be with you!

FW!

* - for meaning of this, ask some technician. This is a polite Forum! (as clue: RTFM-error is the most common error on the Planet :-)

Ibis redibis numquam in mare peribis
windows 10:
Works fine if I configure 'flash player' before starting the "weather inspector"

In my (and i think in your) configuration screen is
flash player(32 bits). Double-click this.
Now follow the instructions in your word document.

Now it works in windows 10 too.

Thanks Simemali, I have been missing this a lot.
And finally WxInspector is online again:
http://solfans.org/wxinspector/

Thanks to SimeMali for his help in this
Thanks to Javakeda for hosting wxinspector and all of solfans
And finally let's not forget about the guy who made WxInspector in the first place: Aaron Gage

Many thanks...BUT, I cannot choose a race to enter--it needs me to make a choice but the choice slot is empty, so I cannot proceed any further. Has anyone tested this?
It may be important to note that I am using Windows 10, with it's new "Edge" program. Will it work with Chrome or Firefox, which I will need to retrieve from "the dustbin of history"?

If it breaks, it's not strong enough--if it doesn't, it's too heavy.
Thanks Rod. I've heard from others having this problem as well. It seems to be a cache problem.

You can clear your cache, or do the following:
Go to these three pages and hit refresh (which should force chrome to update its cache):
http://node1.sailonline.org/crossdomain.xml

http://www.sailonline.org/crossdomain.xml

http://sailonline.org/crossdomain.xml

For all three pages you should see a line containing "solfans.org", if not you are looking at an old, cached version.

Thanks SimeMali, Javakeda for the recent help in solving the winx issues. It is the only tool I use while playing this game unless my alarm, calculator, pencil and paper count. Good stuff!
How can I refresh my Mozilla Browser?
Refresh page, e.i. click on circular arrow left to address bar (Reload this page) while .xml is open. It should reload page and add:

'<allow-access-from domain="*.solfans.org"/>'

Sorry, after have posted I saw that you ask for Firefox. There try to clean local Flash storage:
open Wx Inspector page->right click anywhere on map->Global Settings->Local Storage Settings by Site->select and remove 'solfans.org'->close settings and reload page.

You can clear Firefox cache and stored content:
Options->Advanced->Network

Red Eye - Melville Island PYOC 2026

Melville Island is the largest of the Tivi group opposite the port of Darwin in the Timor Sea. Tropically forested and thinly populated, not a lot goes on there, but let’s race around it anyway, lar- or starboard round, it’s a little more than 120nm, so, no matter where you are navigating from on the planet, you will be hard-pressed to complete the course aboard your J-80 in daylight hours!

The third race of our series of ocean voyages across the World’s convergence zones takes us southeastward now down the Pacific, from Guam’s Apra Harbour at 13.5 degrees North, back across the Equator to the glorious New Caledonian resort island of Ouvéa, on the edge of the Tropic of Capricorn at 20.5 degrees South. It’s 2400nm, and there’s more than a few other islands in the way, so mind where you go in your Ocean 50s. Race #1981

Iceland to the Falklands 2026

Welcome to an all-new route, the first of three Round the 'Old World' of Europe, Africa, Australia and Asia. To give each leg of the ROW a bit of length we'll try to hug the coasts as little as possible, so starting in Iceland our first leg of the series, which will also be the final leg of our Quarter 1 Ocean Championships takes us 7200nm to the Falklands, the full length of the Atlantic end to end. To make sure we'll get it done within the month we'll be sailing our Maxi Trimaran.
