Hi, I am using Chrome and Windows 8.1 and was getting really frustrated at difficulties in opening Sail Online.

I found that if I opened SailOnline and went to a race page AND if I clicked on that page to create a shortcut SailOnline would stall "Waiting for weather..." when I later used the shortcut.

I now use a shortcut to take me directly to the SailOnline home page then click on 'Go To Race' for the race I am interested in. One more mouse click but at least I do manage to get on!

Only the race # changes which is listed with the brief description located on the right hand side of the Home page.

Bookmark & adjust as needed.

This sounds like a DNS problem, can you access both http://sailonline.org and http://www.sailonline.org with your browser?

Currently the client uses "sailonline.org" address for loading the weather, if the weather download fails it can be that your computer can't resolve that address for some reason.

Our exploration of Africa by Sea continues. Next, it’s off to Swakopmund, on the water’s edge of the Kalahari desert. It’s a wind-blasted coast, and a venue of choice for those seeking to set wind-powered speed records. More likely than not, we’ll have to beat into it in our Steinlager II, to finally find some shelter behind the walls of Platz am Meer where there is a marina of sorts. Only 2200nm!

Channel Islands TIMED Chase 2025

The course takes us around the islands of Alderney and Jersey finishing back in Saint Peter Port. This is a TIMED race, so you may RE-REGISTER HERE to try again, after finishing a run.
