Board » Technical Support » NMEA proxy java 7

Dear fellow SOL-ers,

I might have tried everything to get the NMEA proxy running from brainaid. Without succes though. Both my osx as my windows operating system run on the latest version of java and there is no way I can get a previous version installed.

Is there anyone who is running the NMEA proxy on the latest version of java? or maybe some of u can tell me the info behind the proxy so I can add it manually?

Hope someone can help me with this.

With kind regards,

NED Wouter
Wouter try installing Java 6 and it should work . There is also already an article on the forum regarding this problem.

Hi. There is a good post later on in this post re getting qtvlm to work on java 7. Stoerte has just helped me do it here but it is too complex for me to explain. Java5 is no longer downloadable.. one tip; I would suggest is try accessing brainaids site with chrome not IE. IE would not let javs7 grab the NMEA info while chrome got it right away- took us both hours to work that one out!
I have installed java 6 after i deleted my java 7 under programmes.. it worked.. proxy is now loading.. u can download older version of java here..

Christmas to Christmas Island 2025

Two waypoints, start and finish, and between them 5827 NM of two oceans. Not much time if we want to sit at the Christmas Eve table. You will need to maintain an average speed of over 10 knots, maybe quite possible with this Maxi Trimaran, but prepare your vessel well and choose the best of the many possible routes. Hands up everyone who knew there were TWO Christmas Islands?! OK, maybe you have sailed this Sailonline course before... but it's time to get ready for the 2025 challenge of racing between Christmas Island in the Pacific to Christmas Island in the Indian Ocean! It also marks the conclusion of our prestigious Ocean Race Championship 2025. Please have fun! Fair winds!

Sinbad by Balloon 2025 - Carnarvon to Dondra

From here, our home in Bharatavarṣa is now north west of us – said Sinbad to his fellow balloonists. Perhaps we can ride the wind first further north, and then catch the winds that every year bring the rain, perhaps not. It’s 2600nm and we could be aloft awhile, so, Master el-Quarters, victuals only, no sandbags, provisioning the giant hamper. It will be not a picnic!
