The 2024 PIC Coastal Classic showcased an electrifying blend of strategy, skill, and speed as Sailonline’s fleet of Open 60 Class Trimarans competed head-to-head with the intensity of real-life multihull racers. WRmirekd from Poland emerged as our winner, completing the challenging 118-nautical-mile course in an impressive 11 hours, 50 minutes, and 47 seconds. His razor-sharp navigation and efficient tacking secured a well-earned victory. Close behind, Brazil’s Vida_Maldita secured second place, crossing the finish line just two minutes later. Canada’s Satori completed the podium after a thrillingly contested final stretch.

The race hinged on key tactical moments, particularly around Takatu Peninsula and Cape Brett Light. WRmirekd’s flawless coastal navigation and well-timed maneuvers gave him a decisive edge, while Vida_Maldita leveraged fewer tacks and smart positioning to stay firmly in contention. Satori demonstrated remarkable resilience, fighting through challenges to hold onto third. The race culminated in a nail-biting sprint to the finish, with just 35 seconds separating third and sixth places—a testament to the high stakes and exceptional skill of our Sailonline community.

For a deeper dive into the race’s thrilling dynamics, Satori’s masterful report provides a detailed and engaging account. A must-read for everyone!

Sail Around Turkey 2025

Welcome to the 11th running of one of Sailonline's most iconic races, where our fleet races the length of the Turkish coastline from Hopa (the easternmost harbour on Turkey’s Black Sea coast) to Iskenderun (the easternmost harbour on Turkey’s Mediterranean coast). It’s a 1,372nm race and aboard our classic, 1st decade of the 21st Century, version 2 IMOCA 60, you should be able to get around the course in less than a week. That is if, of course, once you get out of the Black Sea you don’t stop to enjoy the sights or a BBQ or two in the Golden Horn, or on the Marble Islands, now land-locked Troy or Gallipoli or any of the myriad Aegean islands, that you shall have to carefully navigate past.
