RACE INFO
On Saturday, 1 June 2013 at midday (midnight on 31 May UTC) a small group of yachts will set sail from Auckland's Westhaven, for a point some 1155nm distant... the resort of Musket Cove, Fiji. This will be a tricky S to N race across one of the toughest areas of the Pacific and will test all who race.

Sailonline is delighted to have been invited by the Royal New Zealand Yacht Squadron to provide a virtual version of this classic race and will be bringing the real fleet onto the race screen, courtesy of Yellowbrick Tracking.

The bulk of the real fleet will be monohulls, so SOL will be sailing her Beneteau 477, but it is expected that Team Vodafone Sailing will be out to beat her own multihull record set in 2011.

Current Records:
Monohull: Camper (Chris Nicholson) 103h 38m 16s in 2011
Multihull: Team Vodafone Sailing (Simon Hull) 103h 20 m 57s

2013 Entrants
Equilibrium,Outrageous Fortune, Squealer, V5, Vision, Vodafone, Wild Card.

All boats will be trackable here via:

See you at race start!

Kamchatsky to Tromsoe 2024

Just before the light failed entirely in Antarctica, Skip Novak managed to get his Pelagic 77 out of the ice and north up the Pacific to Kamchatsky. The sun is shining (24/7) and not a penguin to be seen, and Skip believes the Norh East Passage is ice-free (sufficiently) to attempt it, so all aboard for a c 4250nm voyage from east to west across the top of Siberia, Russia and Norway to Tromsoe!
